“Con amor eterno te he amado; por tanto, te prolongué mi misericordia” Jeremías 31:3
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness”
I had the pleasure of hosting a “Precious Jewels” meeting! Beautiful girls ready to learn the word of God. We had a great time sharing, eating and talking about God’s love! unconditional love. I can’t wait for the next meetings.
My new friend at school asked me to bake some cookies for her class, which also happens to be one of the classes I teach too. Following her advise to change a little bit my posting; I took some pictures of the process. Here they are…para mis amigos:
Working with teachers who are sensitive and understanding of the complexity of our students is a blessing! Today I had the privilege of making these cookies for a great teacher. A teacher who taught her students with respect and who understood the complexity of teaching students who were new to this country. A “white teacher” (as she claimed to be) was able to connect with her students
and families at a level that only commitment and passion will bring. I wish her the best in her new journey! Happy retirement Stacey… you have made a difference and “because we knew you, we are better”
I am so blessed to have the opportunity to spend time with friends. I made these cookies for my very good friend Kathy and her daughter Savannah. As usual, talented bakers who shared their work online inspired my cookies. In addition, I found this amazing book: Sweetapolita by Rosie Alyea. I baked the “Simple and Splendid Chocolate Cake” and it was as splendid as she describes it. I can’t wait to try ALL of her recipes. Welcome to the world Savannah.
The day has finally arrived! Here is the final product for my brother’s wedding. I made 70 cookies individually packed and ready to travel more than 2,500 miles. This has been the most amazing wedding ever! Among love poems, promise vows, hugs, love songs, kisses, and tears, there were my cookies. Cookies inspired by their love. Cookies baked by ME with love. Thanks to this couple and their profound desire to share their lives, I started this hobby. The same way they said, “God put us together,” I want to believe that God also provided me with an aptitude I didn’t know I had. May God bless my brother and his wife! I Hope to also be a blessing to others through this new journey in my life.Wedding Cookies
